Dordt College Choral Concert Dec. 10

The program “A Light in the Darkness” will be presented by Dordt College vocal music ensembles on Friday, Dec. 10, at 7:30 p.m. in the B. J. Haan Auditorium.

The theme of Christ’s birth bringing light to the world will be shared in music composed by Mendelssohn, Sweelinck, Gretchaninof, Whitacre, Nuñez and others. Selected poems and prayers that illuminate the theme will also be shared.

Performing will be the Women's Chorus, Kantorei, Chorale, Concert Choir, and massed choirs, as well as some audience singing of familiar carols. Admission is free, with an offering being received to benefit Dordt College music scholarships.

Dordt College is a Christian liberal arts college located in Sioux Center, Iowa, with more than 300 U.S. and international students participating in ensembles, including four choral groups, two orchestras and three bands. Music scholarships are available to qualified students.
