Semester in Korea
The Semester in Korea gives students the unique opportunity to live and study alongside Korean other international students at Handong Global University (HGU). Living in the beautiful city of Pohang, South Korean, students have the opportunity to explore the rich cultural opportunities in the country. Handong offers courses in many majors, from engineering and psychology to art and business. The Semester in Korea is open to sophomores, juniors, and seniors.
Exchange program application process
Nomination forms deadline is November 15 for spring semester, April 15 for fall semester (sent by David Lee after the student has completed the Dordt Internal Approval process)
All exchange students must be nominated by their home university. The home coordinator must e-mail the following information to firstname.lastname@example.org.

- Date of birth (yy/mm/dd)
- Student's email address
Step 1: Complete the internal approval process. See David Lee (CA 133) for materials and instructions (email: David.Lee@dordt.edu).
Step 2: Once you are internally approved, the Global Education Office will nominate you to HGU, and you will receive an email from HGU along with the application materials.
Once you submit your application and are admitted to the program, HGU will mail you a package with the following documents:
- MOU – Student Exchange Agreement between Dordt and HGU
- Certificate of Admission
- Certificate of Business Registration
You will need these documents to apply for the D2 Exchange Student Visa. Meet with David Lee to learn more about this process.
