Selena Munson
Music Gifts Officer
Selena Munson serves as Music Gifts Officer at Dordt University, where she partners with the Music Department and the Advancement Office to grow support for Dordt's music programs and connect donors to their lasting impact.
Selena's connection to Dordt Music is personal. As a student, she sang, performed, and studied piano and organ. Through the program, she experienced firsthand how community, faith, and joy come together in musical worship.
"In my time as a student, I experienced how community, faith, and joy all come together as we make a joyful noise to the Lord," she says. "Now I get to share that with others who want to be a part of Dordt Music and keep impacting future generations."
What inspires her most is watching that same formation happen in students today.
"At any Dordt concert or performance, it is clear that the glory is for God alone," she says. "We know why we are performing, and that becomes tangible in the midst of the students' performance."
That sense of purpose anchors her approach to the work itself.
"Music was very faith-formational for me as a student, and I want to give more and more students that chance to have that same experience," she says. "The starting point is trusting God to provide the resources our students need; once that is in place, I simply plan and steward in the best ways I know how."
Outside of work, Selena stays connected to performance through local community theater and other performing groups in the area. She appreciates the richness of Northwest Iowa's arts community.
