Olivia Chapman, ARNP, FNP-BC, CDCES, BC-ADM, serves as Program Director for Dordt University’s Master of Science in Nursing - Family Nurse Practitioner program. A graduate of Dordt’s nursing program, Chapman brings more than 20 years of nursing and healthcare experience to her role at Dordt.
Chapman practiced as a family nurse practitioner for 10 years at Orange City Area Health System, providing primary care to patients across the lifespan. She has particular expertise in diabetes care and is both a Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (CDCES) and board certified in Advanced Diabetes Management (BC-ADM). Her clinical experience includes comprehensive diabetes management, insulin pump therapy, continuous glucose monitoring, preventive care, and the management of acute and chronic health conditions.
Chapman began her healthcare career as a certified nursing assistant and has since served as a registered nurse, diabetes educator, and family nurse practitioner. She also brings experience in health professions education, including teaching nurse practitioner students and providing endocrine education to physician assistant students. She continues to maintain a clinical practice in diabetes care while serving at Dordt, allowing her to remain connected to patient care as she educates future advanced practice nurses.
At Dordt, Chapman is passionate about preparing future nurse practitioners who combine clinical excellence with compassionate, Christ-centered care.

I want our students to leave Dordt prepared to provide excellent, evidence-based care, but also to understand that caring for patients is an opportunity to serve. Whether we are making a complex clinical decision or simply taking the time to listen to a patient, we have an opportunity to reflect Christ in the way we practice.”
Chapman is currently pursuing her Doctor of Nursing Practice degree at Clarkson College and anticipates graduating in May 2027.
