Dr. Matthew Beimers
Associate Professor of Education
I am an Assistant Professor of Education and the Director of the School Leadership program. I previously served Christian schools in British Columbia as a teacher, assistant principal and principal. I completed both my undergraduate and graduate work at Dordt, receiving my B.A. in Secondary Education-English in 1994 and my M.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction in 2008. I completed my Ed.D. in School Leadership in 2016 at George Fox University.
I began teaching in both the undergraduate and graduate education programs at Dordt in 2020, and I also contribute to the Hallway Conversations podcast (www.hallwayconvos.podbean.com). I enjoy writing and speaking about school leadership and school culture.
I am a long-suffering Vancouver Canucks hockey fan who also enjoys road-tripping, sitting around a campfire, going for walks, being with my family, drinking coffee and imagining possibilities.
