Matt Bos

Assistant Director of Athletic Communication

Hired during the summer of 2021, Bos is in his first year as the Assistant Director of Athletic Communications at Dordt University. Prior to Dordt, Bos spent 17 years as the sports information director at Northwestern College.

Family: married to his high school sweetheart, Teri, who works as a public health nurse in Orange City.

Alma Mater: Dordt College (1995)
Master's Degree from the University of South Florida
Began Doctorate work as well way back in 2003...will never finish :)

Playing Career: decorated four-year career in intramurals, dominating in, but not limited to; slow pitch softball, basketball, bowling, indoor soccer and 4 vs 4 flag football, from 1991-95

won five 4 vs 4 Flag Football Championships (Air it Out, Let it Fly) when living in Florida from 1995-2004

Duties: maintain the Dordt University Athletics website, including writing press releases, taking photos, both head and action shots, updating schedules, rosters, scores; promote Defender athletics in social media accounts and local media outlets; conduct interviews, both athletes and coaches, broadcast athletic events for the Dordt Media Network.

Life Accomplishments (and goals):
: completed two marathons...hopefully another one in my future
:summitted four 14,000-foot peaks, Quandry Peak, Mt.Democrat, Mt.Cameron (2x) and Mt. Lincoln (Colo.)...hopefully many more in my future (would love to get to double digit summits).
:conquered The Incline (in Manitou Springs, Colorado...look it up)...did it 2x...hopefully many more
:dominated Angel's Landing and The Narrows at Zion National Park
:hoping to get a hole in one at some point
:hoping to attend The Master's and the NCAA Final Four in person
:witness as many Defender championships as possible
:attend a Duke basketball game at Cameron Indoor
:get to as many different baseball and football stadiums across the country
:attend as many state track and field, national track and field events as possible
