
Dr. Deb Kleinwolterink
Associate Professor of Nursing
Deb Kleinwolterink serves as associate professor of nursing at Dordt University, teaching courses such as Wellness in Self and Others, Pharmocology in Nursing, and Professionalism in Nursing.
With a career in nursing for over 30 years, Kleinwolterink brings healthcare experience in general medicine, digestive disorders, and same day surgery. She also has experience in clinic settings and management of a home health agency for medically fragile children.
“I have truly loved every aspect of being a nurse, but I found my true passion in teaching future nurses,” says Kleinwolterink.
Her research interests include building resilience in nurses, specifically using breath prayers to build resilience.
In addition to teaching, Kleinwolterink is involved in the Athletic Performance and Rehabilitation Center (APRC). She also serves as a Faculty Development peer reviewer, Dordt Discovery Days nurse, and Student Nurse Club advisor. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family and being outside.
