Dave Vander Werf serves as Director of Planned Giving at Dordt University, where he helps donors think through their estates and the legacy they hope to leave through bequests, capital campaigns, scholarships, and special projects. He has served Dordt in a fundraising capacity for many years.
The work is grounded in a longer view of what Dordt represents, he says.
"Seeing the faithfulness of our leaders to the founders' vision is encouraging to me and the biggest reason Dordt University continues to thrive," he says. "Being able to share this with our donors is an honor."
What he values most, though, is the relationships the work makes possible.
"Working with our team and our donors is truly the best part of my job," he says.
Outside of work, Dave enjoys spending time with his family, golfing, and fishing.
