Dr. Brian Hoekstra is a professor of business at Dordt University.
With more than 20 years of experience teaching at the college level, Dr. Hoekstra has taught a variety of courses at Dordt including Principles of Management, Human Resource Management, Project Management, and Personal Finance. He is particularly interested in Business as Mission, and how to apply Biblical principles to the workplace.
Dr. Hoekstra and his wife Deanne, live in Ames Iowa and he teaches remotely as a business professor. He taught face-to-face for the business department for 14 years before transitioning online.
He deeply appreciates Dordt’s mission and vision and is thankful he can mentor, disciple, and learn from the students who he is sharing the academic journey with.
“The classes I teach online at the graduate and undergraduate levels offer flexibility for students as they seek to accomplish their academic goals. I get to be helpful and encourage the students in my classes as they go through their academic and life journey as they prepare to do the work that God has for them to do,” adds Dr. Hoekstra.
In his spare time, he enjoys interacting with people from other countries and cultures and letting them know about Jesus.
