The Porter’s Gate, a sacred ecumenical arts collective, will lead a worship event on Friday, September 18 at 7 p.m. in the BJ Haan Auditorium as part of At Work in the Garden: The Faith and Work Conference.
The community is invited to an evening of worship led by The Porter’s Gate, a sacred ecumenical arts collective dedicated to reimagining worship in ways that welcome, reflect, and impact both the church and the wider community.
The worship event will take place on Friday, September 18 at 7 p.m. in the BJ Haan Auditorium as part of At Work in the Garden: The Faith and Work Conference.
The Porter’s Gate is known for creating worship resources that connect Christian faith with the realities of everyday life and work. Their Worship for Workers project, launched in 2023, offers songs, prayers, and blessings designed to help worshippers speak honestly with God about their daily work. The resources can be used directly in worship or adapted to fit a congregation’s particular context.
Founded in 2017 by Isaac and Megan Wardell, The Porter’s Gate was created with a mission of being a “porter” for the Christian church—one who looks beyond the church doors for guests to welcome. The collective began with more than 50 songwriters, musicians, scholars, pastors, and music industry professionals from a variety of worship traditions and cultural backgrounds. Together, they gathered to explore challenges facing the church and write songs in response.
