Isabel Munson to hold student recital

The community is invited to the organ recital of Dordt University junior Isabel Munson. The free recital will be held on Saturday, November 19, at 7:30 p.m. in the B.J. Haan Auditorium. A public reception will follow.

Isabel Munson presents a wide variety of repertoire in her junior organ recital. Featuring Bach’s fantastical Prelude and Fugue in A Minor, the delicate steps of Hampton’s At the Ballet, and the earth-shaking notes of Messiaen’s Apparition de l’église éternelle, this recital offers a wide range of colors and styles sure to impress.

Munson, of Lakeville, Minnesota, is majoring in Organ Performance and Pedagogy with a minor in Business Administration. She has studied organ with Dr. Carrie Groenewold since 2020. She was the recipient of the Twin Cities’ AGO Pipedreams Scholarship in October 2016, May 2017, and May 2019, and in 2021 and 2022, she was the recipient of the John & Reona Reinsma Organ Scholarship.
