Dordt University will host a December 10 launch event for Howard Schaap’s debut memoir Brooding Upon the Waters. Beginning at 7 p.m. in the Eckardt Lounge, the event will include selected readings, a Q&A with the author, and book signing.
Dordt University will host a launch event for Brooding Upon the Waters, the debut memoir by Howard Schaap, professor of English at Dordt, on December 10 at 7 p.m. in the Eckardt Lounge.
The event will include a Q&A with Schaap and Emeritus Professor of English Jim Schaap, along with select readings and book signing. The book will be available to purchase during and after the event through the Dordt Campus Store. Students may use Defender Dollars to purchase the book.

In Brooding Upon the Waters, Schaap explores the intersection of family, history, faith, and landscape through stories of fishing with his father and his upbringing in the Midwest.
