Nicole Rayhons, Dordt University art education major from Sioux Falls, South Dakota, will have a senior art exhibit on display in the Campus Center Art Gallery through February 20.
Rayhons’ exhibit, “I Will Lift Mine Eyes,” focuses on the sense of peace found in God’s creation. Her work demonstrates a variety of artistic methods, ranging from watercolor to digital photography.
In addition to her personal experiences encountering God’s creation in settings such as Pacific Northwest mountains and Custer State Park landscapes, Rayhons draws inspiration from scripture:
“I will lift up my eyes to the hills—from whence
comes my help? My help comes from the Lord,
who made heaven and earth” (Psalm 21:1-2).
A public artist reception will be held on Wednesday, February 18, at 7 p.m. for those interested in learning more about Rayhons and her work.
