The Dordt Concert Choir will perform April 8

The Dordt University Concert Choir will perform with an orchestra the sacred masterworks by J. S. Bach and Franz Schubert on Friday, April 8 at 7:30 p.m. in the B.J. Haan Auditorium. The program will feature two Renaissance motets by William Byrd and Tomas Luis de Victoria, Bach’s "Cantata BWV 196" (Der Herr denket an uns) with text from Psalm 115, and Schubert’s "Mass No. 2 in G major." The major works will be accompanied by an orchestra led by concertmaster Lisa Miedema and featuring professional players from the Northwest Iowa Symphony Orchestra and section leaders from the Dordt University Chamber Orchestra. Professional vocal soloists from the region will also perform. The concert will also be available on livestream at dordt.edu/events/3-62603 or dordt.edu/livestream.
