Due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, the spring 2021 semester at Dordt University will look a bit different than usual. During the spring semester, Dordt will have multiple individual days of rest:

  • Monday, February 15
  • Tuesday, March 9 – Mid-Semester Break
  • Wednesday, April 7 – Registration Day
  • Thursday, April 29 – Assessment Day

These one-day breaks will serve in place of a spring break for the spring semester. Classes will not be held on these dates.

By having individual days of rest, Dordt will limit campus and community spread of Covid-19. These one-day breaks will also provide students and faculty a healthy rhythm and pace throughout the course of the semester.

This spring, Dordt will hold classes on Good Friday–Friday, April 2. There will be worship opportunities on campus on April 2, including Good Friday chapel. As in years past, we will have opportunities in Good Friday classes, labs, activities, and chapel to reflect together on how Christ’s death and resurrection affect us in all areas of life.

As we look to the spring 2021 semester, we will continue to prioritize a safe learning and work environment for students and employees. We will ensure that students have an academically excellent, Christ-centered educational experience, and we will seek out ways for employees to find joy at work during this ongoing pandemic.

As an institution of higher education committed to the Reformed Christian perspective, Dordt University equips students, faculty, alumni, and the broader community to work toward Christ-centered renewal in all aspects of contemporary life. Dordt, located in Sioux Center, Iowa, is a comprehensive university named to the best college lists by The Wall Street Journal, Forbes.com, Washington Monthly, and Princeton Review.
