Dordt Choral Ensembles concert on Wednesday, February 25
The Dordt University Choral Ensembles midwinter concert will be held at 7 p.m. on Wednesday Feb. 25 in the B.J. Haan Auditorium.
The Dordt University Music Department will present a concert on Thursday February 26 at 7 p.m. in the B.J. Haan Auditorium, featuring the 4th Avenue Jazz Singers, 4th Avenue Jazz Band, and Campus-Community Band.
The Dordt University Music Department will present a concert on Thursday February 26 at 7 p.m. in the B.J. Haan Auditorium, featuring the 4th Avenue Jazz Singers, 4th Avenue Jazz Band, and Campus-Community Band.
The jazz portion of the concert will include big band and Broadway standards, fresh perspectives, featured solos, and a variety of collaborations between singers and instruments.
The 4th Avenue Singers group is directed by Associate Professor of Music Dr. Ryan Smit, and the 4th Avenue Band is directed by Assistant Adjunct of Music Scott Olson.
The Campus-Community Band will play music by Lemanns, Smith, and Maslanka as well as a new suite written by the ensemble’s conductor, Professor of Music Dr. Onsby Rose, titled Suite for a Historic City.
This work was commissioned by the town of Rottenberg am Nekar, Baden-Wurttenburg, Germany, for the celebration of their 750th anniversary in 2025.
