A CONCEPT THAT BLEW MY MIND
Hemoglobin: how it binds oxygen in the blood system. The intricacy of such a small piece of our body was mind blowing. Literally, my mind hurt from how complex it was.
COOL THINGS I DID AT DORDT
Soccer is probably the coolest thing I was a part of. Instantly, I had 30 really great friends that surrounded me and supported me through everything. We shared countless hours on a bus and on the field. I built relationships that never could have been as strong without the experience of soccer.
OBSTACLES I'VE OVERCOME
It took me a couple years to really figure out how to do well in classes while maintaining my social life. It also took time for me to find my close group of friends, but when I did they were the people I really wanted to spend time with.
WHO I WAS WHEN I CAME TO DORDT
Small, overconfident, ambitious, nervous, excited.
HOW DORDT IMPACTED ME
Being exposed to different worldviews all around me meant I was always being challenged. I had to begin to navigate a bigger world on my own and piece together my own worldview. Seeing both good and bad in others meant that every experience I had throughout my 4 years was a learning one.
WHAT'S NEXT FOR ME
I’m going back to Colorado and will hopefully find a job working in a laboratory-type setting.
WHAT I WOULD TELL PROSPECTIVE STUDENTS
Keep your mind open to everything. Sometimes things can feel a little closed off, but the people that surround you at Dordt will challenge you to think bigger.
HOW DORDT HELPED ME DO MORE
The "well-roundedness" that I feel I have leaving Dordt means I can "Do More" in the world.
