Membership

Membership includes access to multiple-use courts (must reserve), community weight room, cardio equipment, aerobics room (must reserve), racquetball courts (must reserve), locker rooms, sporting equipment, and more. Subject to availability.

General Admission

General admission to the facility is $6. All individuals under 13 need direct supervision from an adult.

Facility Schedule

If you have any questions about the facility schedule, call 712-722-6302. Reservations can be made for one-hour max. Adult supervision must be for any individuals 13 or younger.

Hours

The times listed below include all the hours that the building is open; however, certain facilities may not be available when classes or practices are being held. A "students-first" policy guides the operation of the Recreation Center.

  • Friday & Saturday (6 a.m. – 10 p.m.)
  • Sunday (closed)

ADMISSION PROCEDURES

To gain admission to the Dordt University Recreation Center, you must have a current membership card or pay the daily fee. By having a membership card or paying the daily fee, a person is allowed to use the court space, community weight room, track, locker rooms, and equipment pending the facility schedule.

Recreation Center staff will monitor equipment check out and return. Failure to return the equipment will result in a charge for the missing item.

  1. All participants must sign in at the front desk
  2. Facility hours and schedule may change depending on program demand and season
  3. Children under 13 must be accompanied by an adult for drop-in usage
  4. Please report any injuries at once to the staff
  5. Not responsible for lost or stolen items
  6. Proper language and behavior are expected
  7. Building and parking lot is a smoke and tobacco free environment
  8. Alcoholic beverages and anyone under the influence are prohibited
  9. Cameras or video cameras permitted in facility only with staff permission
  10. Patrons wishing to return later in the day must stop at the Front Desk prior to leaving
  11. Music on a speaker must not be played unless authorized by a facility employee

  1. Must be 16 or older to use equipment
  2. Everyone must have a shirt or top that covers the midsection
  3. Athletic shoes must be always worn
  4. Clean equipment after usage
  5. Food and gum are not allowed, water bottles are permitted
  6. No loitering
  7. Keep hands, towels, and clothes away from cables and moving parts
  8. Store clothes or bags in the hall or locker room
  9. Notify staff if equipment is not functioning properly or becomes worn
  10. Ask staff for assistance if you are unsure how to operate the machines
  11. Report any injuries at once to facility employment
  12. Contact staff if you have a previous injury or limitations

  1. 8 laps = 1 mile
  2. Walkers - please stay to the inside, runners please stay to the outside
  3. Food, drink, and gum are not allowed, water bottles are permitted
  4. The track is not an area for horseplay or spectating
  5. This area is only for running, jogging, and walking
  6. Warm-up muscles properly before use
  7. Clean equipment after use

  1. Check at control desk for open gym schedule
  2. Do not hang from nets or rims
  3. No strollers allowed
  4. Avoid using any shoes that will leave marks on the gym floor
  5. Anyone causing damage to the rim, backboard or windows will be responsible for repair and any costs
  6. Abusive language of any kind; is prohibited
  7. Fighting will result in removal from the facility
