Costume Shop

The Costume Shop is a 1,500-square-foot space that is home to most of our costume inventory, seven sewing machines, a cutting table, glue/paint station, and office space. The Costume Shop usually employs 10 to 15 student employees with excellent sewing skills who are involved in creating the costumes for our productions. Most of the costumes are available to the public for a small rental fee plus a refundable deposit.

Our inventory consists of costumes from past productions and has grown every year through generous donations from the community. We have a wide variety of period and character costumes. Stop by and see us in our brightly lit, inviting, new space.

Costume Shop Rental Hours

Our costume shop is a student-run business and is open during the following hours:

  • Mondays: 2-5 p.m.
  • Wednesdays: 2-5 p.m.
  • Fridays: 2-4 p.m.

The costume shop is closed during regularly scheduled school breaks.

If you have a group of 6+ we ask that you make an appointment by emailing the Costume Shop at costumeshop@dordt.edu or calling 712-722-6210.

You can find us in the Ribbens Academic Complex, on the lower level below the Nursing Department. Please use the south entrance.

Donations are accepted by appointment only.
