Career Development Center
The Dordt University Career Development Center empowers students to clarify their God-given direction and envision their desired future. It connects students with people, opportunities, and experiences that help them take meaningful next steps. Through personalized guidance, we support students as they create the tools and skills needed for employment or continued education. Above all, the Career Development Center desires to walk alongside students as they pursue purposeful work rooted in their gifts and calling.
Our Mission
The Career Development Center at Dordt University encourages students in their vocational and career development, equipping them with the tools to secure employment or enroll in graduate school as they work toward Christ-centered renewal.

The Career Development Center at Dordt is committed to empowering students and equipping them with tools to succeed in their professions and beyond. As a full-service career center, we offer assistance for each step of your collegiate career path.
ADVISING
- Our staff provides reviews of cover letters, resumes, and LinkedIn profiles whenever students need them
- We can critique graduate school application CVs and personal statements upon request
- Career coaching is available for any student who would like guidance on career-related questions or problems
OPPORTUNITIES
- Career-related events are hosted on campus such as job fairs, interview days, an etiquette dinner, and more
- Handshake gives students access to thousands of job and internship openings
- Workshops delivered to your class, club, or other students groups
PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT
- We can help with interview prep for jobs and graduate programs
- Provide opportunities to build networking skills
- Connect you to a mentor through the Career Mentoring Program
- Our Career Toolkit, accessible through Canvas, provides numerous resources for a student’s career journey
EXPLORATION
- Our Grad School Travel Grants provide reimbursement for some of the cost of visiting graduate programs
- We can help with career exploration through PathwayU and career coaching appointments
