"I served as the lead ambassador for the agriculture department and assisted with many events. I was able to go to the World Food Prize, National FFA Convention, and Iowa State FFA Convention representing Dordt. I was also in the Ag Club and Trapshooting Club. During the school year, I worked on a local farm a few days per week, and during the summer, I interned at a diverse vegetable production farm in New Jersey, a hog production farm in North Carolina, and a ranch in Idaho!"
Surrounded by fields and only three miles from campus, Dordt's Agriculture Stewardship Center is available for students to use regularly.
With several classrooms, a high bay for housing and repairing farm machinery, a welding lab, and more, students get hands-on experiences where other programs might only offer classroom learning.
Dordt's agriculture program uses this facility regularly for class sessions, student research, livestock production, and animal care.
