Fourth World Documentary Tour

There’s a hidden world out there that is getting ready to explode. Most of us know little—if anything about—about it. It’s the world of slums. One of every six human beings inhabits this hidden place and if the United Nations is right, that number will triple by 2050.

Join Dordt College alumni and friends to view the award-winning film The Fourth World, a documentary produced by Dordt digital media production professor Mark Volkers.

This issue is too big for just a few “important” people to be thinking about. It’s something we must all think about and act on.

The film will be shown on November 22 at the location noted below. After viewing, there will be a discussion lead by Volkers and a time to mingle with other alumni and friends.

Please register by Friday, November 14.

Dr. James Calvin Schaap Christmas Readings, Calgary, Alberta

Join Dordt College emeritus professor Dr. James Calvin Schaap and other alumni and friends on December 14, for a Christmas reading from his book, Startling Joy.

A gift. A baby. The pageant. The parties. The worship. The afterglow. The story. These elements—most common of every Christmas—will be explored, but in the most unexpected stories. Because sometimes you can see the amazing message of Christmas in the oddest of places.

Schaap will share his beautiful and inspiring collection of contemporary Christmas stories that will remind you what grace looks like and where to find it. Because what's a holiday for, if not joy?
