Dordt College Men's Basketball vs. Dakota State

December 30, 2004

(Sioux Center, Iowa) The Dordt College Defender basketball team scored 11 unanswered points to break a 2-2 tie early and took a twenty point lead at halftime on the way to a 88-68 win over Dakota State at the Dordt College Classic.

The Defenders got 15 points from Derek Keizer along with seven assists while Luke Ruter and Dan Hospers each had 14. Chad Huenink came off the bench for 12 and Brandon Haan had 10 despite foul trouble. Hospers also grabbed eight rebounds.

Dakota State was topped by Ryan Burgraff's 19 points, 15 of which came in the first half.

Ruter was named the all-tournament team's captain with Hospers also gaining a spot. Burgraff represents Dakota State while Martez Van Buren (Briar Cliff) and Matt Zachery (North Central)round out the honor squad.
