Dordt College Men's Basketball vs. Hastings

January 24, 2004

(Sioux Center, Iowa) The Dordt Defenders picked up a GPAC conference win today with a 76-59 win over the Hastings Broncos. Dordt held a 39-27 lead at halftime, but Hastings put together a run in the second half, cutting the lead to three points with under seven minutes left to play. It was all Dordt from there as the Defenders went on a 19-5 run to finish out the game and get the win.

Luke Ruter went 5-9 from three-point range and had 21 points to lead the Defenders in scoring. Bret Van Wyk had 17 points, Derek Keizer had 13, and Kyle Van Arendonk chipped in 11 points and four assists for Dordt. Joe Sochor and Brad Toepfer had 18 points apiece for Hastings.
