Dordt College Women's Volleyball vs. Hastings

(Sioux Center, Iowa) The #7 ranked Dordt College Lady Defenders held off the #19 Hastings College Broncos in Great Plains Athletic Conference play Friday night at the De Witt Gym in Sioux Center.

Hastings came from behind to win game one 31-29 after trailing at one point 25-20. The Lady Defenders held a 25-20 lead in game two as well only to have Hastings knot it up at 28 before the Lady Defenders sealed it with two points for the 30-28 win.

Hastings led game three from start almost from start to finish, breaking a 9-9 tie and extending the lead to 14-10, never trailing the rest of the way for a 30-24 win.

Dordt reversed that score in game four, forcing eith ties before pulling away for the 30-24 win. Game five had the Lady Defenders out frton from teh start, taking a 5-0 lead only to have Hastings come back to tie it at 8-8. Dordt used a five point run to get up 13-8 and won by a 15-10 count.

Dordt was led by Kristin De Ronde with 20 kills while Tara De Boer had 16 and Jill Haan 10. Erin Lenneman led the Hastings attack with 20 kills and had 20 digs while Sarah Fettin had 15 kills and was in on eight blocks. Lenneman also registered six ace serves for the Broncos.

Emily Van Voorst totaled 59 assists for Dordt College while Traci Kooima had 39 digs in teh win. Renee Faimon led Hastings with 26 digs.
