Dordt College Women's Volleyball vs. Midland (NE)

October 17, 2003

(Sioux Center, Iowa) The Dordt Defenders remained undefeated in GPAC conference play tonight with a 3-1 win over Midland Lutheran.

Dordt won games one and two before Midland Lutheran suddenly came to life in game three. The Warriors took an early lead, then extended it to as many as six late in the game and the Defenders couldn't recover.

Midland again took an early 6-2 lead in game four and looked close to forcing a game five when they led 25-18 midway through. The Defenders fought back with an eight-point run late, then got the final three points of the game for the match victory.

Tara De Boer led the Defenders with a game-high 30 digs, while Rachel Pontier and Rachel Van Beek added 17 and 14 kills respectively. Jill Bouma had 31 digs and an ace serve for Dordt, and Lindsey Van Wyk had two aces to go along with her 29 digs.

Janelle Sager and 10 kills and Kelsey Westergaard put down 9 kills for Midland Lutheran.
