Dordt College Women's Volleyball vs. Northwestern

(Sioux Center, Iowa) The Dordt Defenders handed the Northwestern Red Raiders a 3-0 loss tonight in GPAC conference play. The eighth-ranked Defenders built gradual leads in games one and two and looked close to doing the same in game three when Northwestern came fighting back.

Dordt held a 19-13 lead in game three, but Northwestern scored five of the next six points to force a Dordt time-out at 20-18 and finally tied the score at 22-all. The game featured another seven ties, including five consecutive ties at 28, 29, 30, 31, and 32 before the Defenders pulled out the decisive win.

The Defenders were led tonight by Tara De Boer who put down 16 kills and 5 ace serves. Rachel Pontier and Rachel Van Beek also had 12 and 11 kills, respectively, for Dordt. Taylor Cook had 10 kills for Northwestern.
