Mr. Boersma funds this scholarship. This scholarship is for a Central Minnesota Christian High School graduate. Preference will be given to students who are members of a church in the reformed faith and who are interested in the pre-seminary program or teacher education program at Dordt College. All students who meet these criteria will automatically be considered for this scholarship.

Alumni Association Regional Scholarships

These scholarships are awarded to incoming freshmen students who fully appreciate the mission of Dordt College. Applicants must have a 2.80 cumulative GPA and must write an essay about their desire to be a Dordt College student. At least one recipient will be selected from each alumni geographical area. These are one-year scholarships. It is highly recommended that the scholarship reference be written by a Dordt College alumnus. If no alumnus is available, someone who understands the mission of Dordt College may write the reference.

American State Bank in Sioux Center established this scholarship for students who intend to major in accounting or business administration. Applicants must have a 3.00 cumulative GPA. Brandon Oldenkamp Memorial Men’s Basketball Scholarship

This scholarship was funded by Robert and Linda Oldenkamp in memory of their son Brandon. Special consideration will be given to a player who has demonstrated continued improvement throughout his basketball career due to work ethic and commitment. Defender Capital Management Scholarship

Incoming freshman students that are interested in investments management and will be a part of the Defender Capital Management Club each year are encouraged to apply for this scholarship. Applicants must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.25 and plan to major in business, finance, or accounting or demonstrate a willingness to take a prescribed sequence of accounting and finance courses. This scholarship is renewable provided the student maintains a 3.0 cumulative GPA and is a member of the DCM Club, taking a leadership role their junior and senior years.

Distinguished Scholar Awards

Ten to twelve Distinguished Scholars are selected each year. Students with a 3.75 cumulative GPA and a 30 ACT (or 1980 SAT) composite score will be invited to a Dordt College Distinguished Scholar Day on Friday, January 13, 2017, during which a variety of activities related to academic interests will be presented. A written response to an essay question or an interview may be a required activity that day. Students who find it difficult to schedule this visit may complete these activities under the supervision of their high school guidance counselor. Dordt College Admissions Counselors can answer specific questions about Distinguished Scholar awards. These awards are renewable for an additional three consecutive years provided the recipient maintains a 3.50 cumulative GPA.

Doorn Scholarship

This scholarship is funded by Henry and Karen Doorn. The recipient must be from the greater Chicago, Illinois area, with preference for graduates of Chicago Christian High School. This scholarship will be renewed for the recipient's sophomore year, provided the student remains in good academic standing.

Dordt College Athletic Scholarships

Athletic scholarships are available for students who have contributed significantly to their high school athletic program and intend to actively participate in a Dordt College athletic program. Athletes may receive scholarships for more than one sport. The maximum total dollar amount for multiple sports scholarships is $12,000. Students interested in athletic scholarships should contact a Dordt College Admissions Counselor or the coach of the sport at which they excel. Athletic scholarships are renewable provided the student maintains the cumulative GPA required by the NAIA, and successfully contributes to the athletic program as determined by the athletic department coaches.

Dordt College Challenge, Honors, and Presidential Scholarships

Dordt College Challenge, Honors, and Presidential Scholarships are academic scholarships awarded to students with a 2.80 cumulative GPA and a 19 ACT (or 1330 SAT) composite score. Scholarships ranging $2,500-$4,500 are named Challenge Scholarships, scholarships ranging $5,000-$7,000 are named Honors Scholarships and scholarships ranging $7,500-$12,500 are named Presidential Scholarships. There is no application process and the December 1 deadline date does not apply to these scholarships. These scholarships are renewable, provided the recipient maintains a 2.8 cumulative grade point average after freshman year, and a 3.00 cumulative grade point average thereafter.

Dordt College Forensics Scholarships

Forensics Scholarships are available for students who have exhibited proficiency in speech or debate. The scholarships are awarded on a basis of merit proved through accomplishments in high school, but do not require participation on a team. These scholarships are renewable for an additional three consecutive years provided the recipient maintains a cumulative 2.00 GPA and is an active participant on the forensics team, as determined by the Director of Forensics in consultation with the other coaches.

Dordt College Journalism Scholarships

Student publications/journalism scholarships are available for students who contributed to the publication of their high school newspaper or other writing projects. Recipients need not be communication majors; however, they will be asked to enroll in the Introduction to Journalism course during their first year at Dordt College and are expected to participate in the publication of the Dordt College Diamond, a biweekly college student newspaper. An application form, three writing samples, and a recommendation from a person who can attest to the applicant's writing abilities are required. Journalism scholarships are renewable for an additional three consecutive years provided the recipient maintains a cumulative 2.00 GPA and is an active staff member of the Dordt College Diamond, as determined by the student newspaper's faculty advisor.

Children of active Christian Missionaries are eligible for a Dordt College Missionary Kids Scholarship. The dollar amount ranges depending on financial need. This scholarship is renewable provided the student maintains a 2.0 minimum GPA.

Dordt College Music Scholarships

Music scholarships are available for students who have contributed significantly to their high school or community music program and intend to actively participate in one or more of the following Dordt College music areas: vocal, instrumental or keyboard. Applicants need not be music majors; however, they must submit an application form and a music instructor's recommendation. Applicants must also audition in their chosen music area(s), following the criteria listed on the Music Scholarship Application. The audition can be accomplished in one of three ways: attending the annual on-campus Music Audition Days, scheduled January 20, to audition in person (contact the Admissions Office for details); scheduling an appointment with the Admissions Office to audition in person on a Dordt College Campus Visit Day; or submitting a recorded audition. The selected option must be completed by January 15. Music scholarships are renewable for an additional three consecutive years provided the recipient maintains a cumulative 2.00 GPA and successfully contributes to the music program as determined by the music department directors.

Dordt College Theatre Arts Scholarships

Theatre Arts Scholarships are available for students who have contributed significantly to their high school or community theatre arts programs and intend to actively participate in the Dordt College Theatre Arts program through acting and/or technical work. Applicants must submit an application form, audition materials, and a recommendation letter from a person familiar with their talents and skills in theatre arts. Scholarships are available for theatre majors, minors and non-majors. Theater Arts scholarships are renewable for an additional three consecutive years provided the recipient maintains a cumulative 2.00 GPA and completes the theatre scholarship requirements. Requirements include; taking one theatre course each year and completing required hours in two of the following areas: backstage crew, acting, costume crew, makeup crew, box office crew, set construction or design.

Recipients will be selected based on their participation in one of the following three high school activities programs: athletic, music or theatre. Any student who has completed an application form for a Dordt College Athletic Scholarship, Dordt College Music Scholarship or Dordt College Theatre Arts Scholarship will automatically be considered for a Dordt Development Foundation Activities Grant. Several scholarships are funded in memory of Egbert Meyer from Volga, South Dakota who was one of the founders who worked to establish Dordt College. The first scholarship will give preference to a Western Christian High School student accepted into the Dordt College Men’s Basketball program. Janie M. Roos Memorial Women's Basketball Scholarship

This annual $5,000 scholarship is funded to encourage gifted women basketball athletes to attend Dordt College. Janie and her husband Ralph enthusiastically supported their three daughters Lynette, Lisa, and Lori as they played on the Dordt women’s basketball teams. Students accepted into the Kuyper Scholars Program will be awarded a $2,000.00 Kuyper Scholarship. Eligibility requirements to apply for this program are a 3.50 cumulative GPA and a 28 ACT (or 1860 SAT) composite score. Final admittance will be based on an entrance essay and letters of recommendation. Interested students should apply through the college admissions office. This scholarship is for an incoming freshmen student accepted in good academic standing at Dordt College. The recipient must be a member of an Orthodox Presbyterian Church (OPC). Financial need can be taken into consideration when awarding this scholarship.

Pamela Adams Teacher Education Scholarship

A Pamela Adams Teacher Education Scholarship is funded in honor of the many years Dr. Adams has dedicated to Dordt College, especially the teacher education department. Applicants must have a 3.00 cumulative GPA and intend to major in teacher education.

This scholarship is available for an incoming freshman or upper class Dordt College student who is a member of the Phoenix, Arizona, First Christian Reformed Church. Financial need will be considered when awarding this scholarship.

Premier Communications Foundation Scholarships

Students who have a Sioux Center, Iowa, telephone prefix (722), a 3.00 cumulative GPA and a 21 ACT composite score will be eligible for these scholarships. Recipients will be selected based on leadership, character, and Christian commitment. These scholarships are renewable for an additional three consecutive years provided the recipient maintains a 3.00 GPA.

Presidential Grant for Future Leaders

These scholarships honor students who demonstrate superior academic ability and leadership potential. Applicants must have a 3.50 cumulative GPA. Recipients will be selected on the basis of their participation and leadership in school, church, and community activities. Smickley Scholarship for Engineering

The Smickley Family Foundation established this scholarship for an incoming freshman engineering major. This scholarship when added to other gift aid (merit-based and federal/state grants) will cover up to full tuition costs or a maximum of $7,500/year, whichever amount is smaller. Financial need can be taken into consideration when awarding this scholarship.The Smickley scholarship is renewable for an additional three consecutive years provided the recipient maintains a 3.00 cumulative GPA and continues majoring in engineering.

The Summit Home School Scholarship

This scholarship was established for an incoming freshman that was primarily homeschooled throughout his or her primary and secondary years. Financial need will also be taken into consideration for this scholarship. This scholarship is renewable for four years, provided the recipient maintains a minimum cumulative 3.0 grade point average.

Trans Ova Agriculture Scholarship

Applicants must have a 3.00 cumulative GPA and plan to major in agriculture or animal science. Preference is given to students demonstrating special interest in swine management.

Transfer Student Academic Scholarships

Dordt College Challenge, Honors, and Presidential Scholarships for Transfer Students are awarded on the basis of a student’s college cumulative GPA, their high school cumulative GPA, and their ACT or SAT composite score. There is no application process and the December 1 deadline date does not apply to these scholarships. Eligibility requirements are a 2.80 cumulative GPA, and a 19 ACT (or 1330 SAT) composite score. Scholarship dollar amounts range from $2,500 to $11,000 and will be named Challenge, Honors, or Presidential Scholarships based on the dollar amount awarded. Challenge, Honors, and Presidential Scholarships are renewable through the recipient’s senior year provided the recipient maintains a 3.00 cumulative GPA. 

Admitted transfer students are also eligible for the following scholarship programs as described for incoming freshmen students.
