Admissions Counselor

Dordt College has an opening for an Admissions Counselor. This person will be responsible for working with prospective students and families to communicate the opportunities available to them at Dordt College. This person will effectively communicate the programs offered, extra-curricular activities that are available, and engage and enhance their interest and participation in Christian Higher Education as a whole.

Duties include contacting students by phone as well as at schools, churches, homes and at college fairs across the country. This work involves planning trips, preparing itineraries, and traveling to various destinations to meet with prospective students and parents.

Desired qualifications include a Bachelor of Arts degree, strong computer skills, and effective and efficient organizational and coordination skills. Excellent public relations and written and oral communication skills, as well as a desire to work with prospective students who are high school age are desired. Candidates must have or be able to obtain a valid driverís license and be willing to do extensive traveling, which would include evenings and weekends.

Alumni & Parent Relations Coordinator

Dordt College is searching for an individual to serve as Alumni and Parent Relations Coordinator. Reporting to the Director of Alumni and External Relations, this person will develop various affinity and support groups, train alumni chapter leaders, plan projects and events, and manage communications for parents and members of the Alumni Council. The coordinator will also oversee the staffing and use of the alumni house, and attend and lead some alumni and external relations events.

Other duties include managing the alumni database, analyzing and compiling reports, and collaborating and providing administrative support for the director.

Desired qualifications include a BA and a minimum of 3 years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education, experience, and training. Strong communication skills including the ability to speak before groups and build new relationships are desired. A self-starter with creative and administrative leadership skills is desired.

The part-time positions would entail approximately 400 hours at an hourly rate.

Database Administrator

Dordt College has a full-time opening for a Database Administrator (DBA). The DBA will be responsible for overseeing and maintaining the operations of the campus information system.

Responsibilities include database programming and maintenance, administering various Linux systems, VMware cluster, and other related systems, and providing technical support for end users.

Related training, education or experience is required. A working knowledge of HTML, Java, PHP or Perl, SQL, Apache, Linux, VMware and Windows is required. Research skills and the ability to understand functional business areas when designing programs for end users are also required.

Director of Financial Aid

Dordt College seeks an individual to provide leadership and direction in the development and application of financial aid policies as Director of Financial Aid. The Director will work with a dedicated team to help students and families understand that a Dordt College education is affordable and valuable.

Jumping/Hurdle/Pole Vault Coach
Seeking an individual with jumping (long and triple)/hurdle/pole vault experience and a passion and willingness to learn technical aspects of these field events.

Duties include being responsible for the development of a training program and technical instruction for 15-20 college athletes. Hours are approximately 3-6 p.m. Monday through Friday from January 15 through May 1, with some Saturday meets included. Off-season coaching may also be available.
