Dordt College Men's Golf at GPAC #1

The Dordt College Defender golf team played in their first GPAC qualifier event on Saturday Mitchell, South Dakota. The meet is the first of two events this fall and four this school year that will determine the NAIA National Meet qualifier.

The Defenders stand seventh after shooting a 314 with Dakota Wesleyan clearing a 289 for the day with four golfers that shot 73 or better.

Dordt's best day was had by Jared Rempel with a 75 while Jordan Janz managed to break 80 with a 78 while Brad Evenson had an 80 and Ryan Kamp an 81. Collin Broekhuis had an 81 and didn't figure into the final scoring. Rempel's finish was tenth and Janz was 23rd.

Nick Gates from Dakota Wesleyan and EJ Hamilton from Nebraska Wesleyan each had 70's to claim medalist honors.

Dordt is scheduled to golf September 11 at Sioux Falls.
