Julie Ooms (PhD, Baylor University) is Professor of English and Director of the Honors Program at Missouri Baptist University in St. Louis, MO. where she teaches American and world literature, composition, and Honors courses. She has published journal articles on, among others, Sylvia Plath, J. D. Salinger, the television show Severance, and Dante's Divine Comedy, and is co-author of Deep Reading: Practices to Subvert the Vices of our Distracted, Hostile, and Consumeristic Age.
