In addition, she manages the Joan Ringerwole Organ Recital Series, which brings outstanding artists to perform on Dordt’s 57-rank Casavant organ. Her recent performances include a faculty recital at Dordt University with trumpeter Richard Neckermann featuring Petr Eben’s *Okna* (Windows); organ soloist with the Sioux City Symphony Orchestra for Howard Hanson’s *Concerto for Organ, Harp, and Strings*; and harpsichordist for Vivaldi’s *Four Seasons* and Max Richter’s *Vivaldi Recomposed* with the Sioux City Symphony Orchestra. Carrie holds a D.M.A. in Church Music (Organ emphasis) from the University of Kansas where she studied organ, harpsichord, and choral conducting with Michael Bauer. There, she also studied carillon with Elizabeth Berghout and improvisation with Kevin Vogt. She earned a Master of Sacred Music degree from the University of Notre Dame, studying with Craig Cramer, and a B.A. in Organ Performance and Church Music from Dordt University where she studied with Dr. Joan Ringerwole. Inspired by her Dutch heritage, her doctoral research focuses on Jan Pieterszoon Sweelinck's Genevan Psalm settings. She has served many churches as Organist-Choirmaster and Director of Music and has participated in organ competitions and academic tours to Italy and the Netherlands, taking opportunities to play historic organs and participate in masterclasses with major European artists. Delighted about teaching on the very organ that captured her interest during her youth, she resides in Sioux Center, Iowa with her husband Jevon and their three children, Levi, Addie, and Reuben, who bring her great joy.
