#  Brewer Eberly

 

 

 

 ![]() Brewer Eberly is a third-generation family physician at Fischer Clinic in Raleigh, NC and a McDonald Agape Fellow in the Theology, Medicine, &amp; Culture Initiative at Duke Divinity School. He completed his family medicine and chief residency at AnMed Health in Anderson, SC, and is a fellow of the Paul Ramsey Institute and the American Academy of Family Physicians.

He is the author of *The Healer's Vocation: A Small Group for Christians in Health Care* and co-director of *The* *Good Surgeon* at Duke. Brewer has been published widely, including *JAMA*, *Mere Orthodoxy*, *The New Atlantis*, *Christianity Today*, and *Plough*, including artwork on the cover of *Academic Medicine* and in the *AMA Journal of Ethics*. While the majority of his work is caring for his patients, his scholarship focuses on the intersections between medicine, aesthetics, and Christian theology, with a particular eye toward medical trainee formation, the relationship between beauty and ethics, and the nourishment of weary clinicians.
