The exhibit will be on display from Thursday, March 21 until Tuesday, April 9. An art reception will be held on Tuesday, April 2 at 6 p.m. The public is welcome to attend. “Emphasis on Metamorphosis” takes viewers on the journeys of Paul, Samson, Joseph, and Moses as described through biblical narratives and compares these stories of conversion and transformation to the metamorphic process a caterpillar goes through to become a butterfly. Trimble is interested in capturing the uniqueness of each of these biblical figures and highlighting how their connection with God did not diminish but rather fulfilled their identities as unique individuals. “What I hope viewers gain from seeing my exhibit is that each of our lives are unique, and we each have our own journeys to get through,” he says. “Perfection is an end goal that we as humans will never reach due to sin. But we can’t let that hold us back from our own growth. As humans, it is up to us to take God up on the metamorphic journey he has laid out for each of us individually.” Trimble says he most enjoyed being able to see all his work together in one space. “It allowed me to glimpse into each piece together instead of separately,” he says. “I also enjoyed the experience of being able to learn how to install works of art.” **About Dordt University** As an institution of higher education committed to the Reformed Christian perspective, Dordt University equips students, faculty, alumni, and the broader community to work toward Christ-centered renewal in all aspects of contemporary life.
