The Center of Advancement for Christian Education (CACE) at Dordt University has partnered with the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI) to help expand the reach of the Children’s Tuition Fund.
The Center of Advancement for Christian Education (CACE)—a vision of the Sid & Carol Verdoorn Foundation, Dordt University, and Christian school thought leaders for the promotion of Christian education at all levels of learning—has partnered with the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI) to help expand the reach of the Children’s Tuition Fund.
The Children’s Tuition Fund (CTF) is a ministry of ACSI that partners with Christian schools, families, and contributors to facilitate tax-credit-based contributions that provide scholarship funds for students seeking a Christ-centered education. Ultimately, CTF connects tax-advantaged contributions with scholarship assistance, helping more families afford tuition at participating Christian schools. CTF currently administers scholarship programs tied to state tax-credit opportunities and is expanding this work through the federal Education Freedom Tax Credit.
This partnership between ACSI and CACE demonstrates the camaraderie necessary to continue advancing Christian education, especially for those with financial barriers.
“The Education Freedom Tax Credit represents a historic opportunity for Christian education, but realizing its full potential will require organizations across the Christian education community to work together,” explains Temple Weiss, President of the ACSI Education Foundation and Children’s Tuition Fund. “That is why partnerships like this one with Dordt are so important. We have an opportunity to introduce thousands of people to a simple new way to support Christian education through dollars they are already paying in federal taxes. We are incredibly grateful for Dordt’s leadership and willingness to help us seize this opportunity, and we believe this is just the beginning of what this program can mean for Christian education nationwide.”
For Dordt, this is a tangible expression of a longstanding partnership between Dordt and ACSI and its dedication to the advancement of Christian education. “For years, our education department has partnership with ACSI, and we have drawn students from ACSI schools and trained educators and school leaders for ACSI schools,” says Dr. Brandon Huisman, vice president for advancement and marketing at Dordt. “Now the work of CACE, thanks to the generosity of the Sid and Carol Verdoorn Family Foundation, has only enhanced the reach of this partnership.”
