Dordt University alumnus Chad Postma (’05) will present a photography exhibit in the Campus Center Art Gallery from October 6 through November 7.
The exhibit, titled “Steady,” features photography that reflects 20 years of faithful practice in seeking God’s beauty in creation and a lasting desire to capture it.
“Landscape photography not only captures a view of God’s creation, but it also captures the feelings, smells, memories, and spiritual connection you experience in that moment, and each piece comes with a unique memory and experience,” says Postma.
“My hope is that when the attendees look at my exhibit they can engage with my photos, reflecting on how their own experiences have connected them to God’s beauty,” he adds.
After graduating from Dordt, Postma turned to photography as his primary artistic medium. His passion for experiencing nature has deepened through an ongoing drive to capture the beauty he encounters. Now, more than 20 years into his observations and patient witness to God’s goodness, Chad shares his perspective on both simple and grand subjects from across the United States.
Embracing the possibilities of digital technology, Postma shares his work in an array of large format prints that come from an ongoing curiosity and exploration for the expanding on-demand printing market.
To learn more about Postma and his photography, the community is invited to an artist reception on Friday, October 17 at 4:30 p.m.
