Abraham Hall, a senior majoring in music and biology at Dordt University, will give an organ recital on Saturday, November 15, at 7 p.m. in the B.J. Haan Auditorium.
The program portrays movement from darkness to light, beginning with the Passacaglia and Fugue in C Minor by Johann Sebastian Bach, followed by the complete Sonata no. 1 in f minor by Felix Mendelssohn.
“The final piece, "Dieu Parmi Nous,"— translated as God Among Us—is a rousing toccata that celebrates the birth of Christ and the wonder of the incarnation,” says Hall.
This will be Hall’s third and final recital at Dordt. While at Dordt, he has held the John and Reona Reinsma Organ Scholarship, the Roosien Organ Scholarship, and the Carol Lee Den Ouden Zylstra scholarship for Church Music.
A public reception will be held after the recital.
