Dordt University’s Master of Social Work (MSW) program has recently partnered with John Brown University in Siloam Springs, Arkansas, to offer students a fast track to an MSW degree and a strong foundation as they enter the field of social work.
“This partnership offers an exceptional advantage for our Family and Human Services graduates,” says Dr. Geoffrey Reddick, department chair and associate professor of family and human services at John Brown University. “Our students will now be able to waive up to 18 credits in course requirements for Dordt's MSW program, allowing them to complete their master's degree more quickly and cost-effectively. This means they can enter the field of social work sooner, equipped with advanced skills and a continued foundation in their faith, ready to make a significant impact on their communities.”
Dordt University remains committed to equipping students for Christ-centered renewal in all areas of life. With a growing demand for skilled Christian social workers, this partnership will help both fulfill that need and make a kingdom impact. “Social work provides a meaningful and tangible way to embody Dordt’s commitment to Christ-centered renewal,” says Joe Bakker, dean for online, graduate, and partner programs at Dordt. “This partnership with John Brown University helps us reach more students who are called to serve and restore.”
“Both John Brown University and Dordt University are dedicated to integrating faith and learning, preparing students not just for careers, but for lives of service and Christ-centered impact,” adds Reddick. “It's more than just an academic agreement; it's a shared vision for equipping Christian professionals to serve a world in need.”
Dordt’s MSW program is accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) and approved by the Higher Learning Commission.
