Steiger Receives CoSIDA Honor

Eric Steiger was named to the 2021-22 NAIA Academic All-American Team, Men's Cross Country / Track and Field, as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
The 2021-22 Academic All-America teams, selected by members of the CoSIDA, recognize the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances in athletic competition and in the classroom. The CoSIDA Academic All-America program separately recognizes honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
Steiger was one of 10 cross country / track and field athletes to receive second team honors. Steiger earned All-American honors in both cross country and track and field this past year, placing 34th at the NAIA Cross Country championship while finishing as the national runner-up in the 3000m steeplechase during the outdoor track season. Steiger is now a three-time All-American during his running career for the Defenders while also winning the GPAC Cross Country Individual championship in 2018.
Steiger, who is from Lynden, Washington, is a four-time NAIA Scholar Athlete and a Mechanical Engineering major.
