Basketball Adds Droog

(Thursday, May 5, 2022; Sioux Center, Iowa) Emma Droog, a senior at Mount Vernon Christian School (Washington), has announced her intention to attend Dordt and join the Defender basketball team.
Droog earned all-state honors in 2022 and was on the all-state tournament second team in 2021 and 2022. She also claimed all-league first team honors in 2021 and second team accolades in 2020. She as a part of a 2022 state championship team and a district championship team in 2019, 2021 and 2022. Droog averaged 12 points, eight rebounds and five assists per game during her career. She’s listed as a 5-11 wing.
“I have experienced the atmosphere at Dordt University many times and have always been impressed. My sister is on the basketball team as well and has given e insight into the wonderful women’s basketball program at Dordt I would love to be a part of,” said Droog.
Emma is the daughter of Jeff and Monica Droog of Mount Vernon, Washington. She plans to enter the pre-physical therapy program at Dordt.
Dordt University in Sioux Center, Iowa, is a comprehensive Christian college rooted in the Reformed tradition. The Defender athletic program is a part of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC), American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA) and the Mid-American Collegiate Hockey Association (MACHA).
U.S. News & World Report, Money Magazine, Forbes.com, Washington Monthly, and Princeton Review all list Dordt on their best colleges lists. Dordt is home to approximately 1,500 students.
