McGlothin Commits To Defenders

(Thursday, April 28, 2022; Sioux Center, Iowa) Kaeden McGlothin, a senior at Stanwood High School (Washington), has announced his intention to attend Dordt and join the Defender basketball program.

“Kaeden is a great fit for our program. We have high hopes for him as a player.  He will be a great teammate and a is a fantastic fit for Dordt,” said Dordt basketball coach Brian Van Haaften.

McGlothin is a 6-6 wing/shooting guard who averaged 14.5 points per game last season with four assists and 11 rebounds per game.  He was a 2022 first team all-league selection after earning second team honors in 2021 and honorable mention honors in 2020.

“When I visited Dordt, I loved every aspect. The people are genuine, kind and helpful.  I also loved the dudes on the basketball team because they welcomed me. Everything about Dordt feels like a home away from home,” said McGlothin.

Kaeden is the son of Andrea and Barry McGlothin from Mount Vernon, Washington.  He plans to study health and human performance at Dordt.

Dordt University in Sioux Center, Iowa, is a comprehensive Christian college rooted in the Reformed tradition. The Defender athletic program is a part of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC), American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA) and the Mid-American Collegiate Hockey Association (MACHA). 

U.S. News & World Report, Money Magazine,, Washington Monthly, and Princeton Review all list Dordt on their best colleges lists. Dordt is home to approximately 1,500 students.
