Women's Track and Field - South Dakota Challenge Preview

The Event... The Defenders women's track and field team will compete in the South Dakota Challenge, a three-day meet hosted by the University of South Dakota, this weekend. Competition begins on Thursday, April 21 at 5pm with most of the distance races. Day two's focus will mainly be field events and will commence around 2:30pm. The meet will conclude on Saturday, beginning at 10am for field events and at noon on the track.

Teams Competing...Dordt is one of 14 teams set to compete this weekend. The 2022 field features five NCAA D-I institutions; University of South Dakota, South Dakota State University, North Dakota State, University of North Dakota and Omaha; three D-II schools - Minot State, Sioux Falls and Wayne State; along with five other NAIA teams - Briar Cliff, Dakota State, Morningside, Mount Marty and Northwestern.

Last Week...A limited number of Defenders competed in the cold, blustery conditions at the Red Raider Open. Anna Herman won the 200m and a total of 17 Defender athletes placed among the top 10:
