The Dordt University Choral Department will present the High School Choral Festival concert on Friday, April 22 at 7 p.m. in the B.J. Haan Auditorium and De Witt Gymnasium. This concert will feature a mass festival choir including singers from 16 Christian high schools representing 12 different states. They will be joined by all of the Dordt choirs: Bella Voce women’s chorus, Canons of Dordt men’s chorus, 4th Avenue Singers, Chorale, and Concert Choir.
Many of the participating choirs will also perform one song on their own. Also present for the day festival and the concert will be Iowa native and internationally acclaimed composer Elaine Hagenberg. The massed choir will be performing the world premiere of her newest composition, “My Song in the Night,” commissioned for this year’s festival by Dordt University.
