Janda To Run For Defenders

(Thursday, April 7, 2022; Sioux Center, Iowa) Ellie Janda, a senior at Blue Hill High School, has announced her intention to attend Dordt and join the Defender cross country and track programs.

“Ellie is a wonderful addition to Dordt’s campus and will be a fantastic teammate.  She is an excellent fit for our program and will have a wide ranging impact within the campus community.  She loves to run, is a strong student, and loves The Lord. I look forward to working with her the next four years!” said Dordt cross country coach and assistant track and field coach Nate Wolf.

Janda has personal bests of 22:09 in the 5,000 meters and has earned all-conference honors four times, academic all-state honors twice and was a four-time letter winner.

“I chose to commit to Dordt because of its strong Biblical foundation, its positive atmosphere and the genuine kindness of students, professors and coaches. When I visited campus for the first time, I was able to visualize myself living, competing and thriving there. My college decision process has certainly taken much consideration and many prayers through this, I feel confident Dordt is where the Lord is leading me. I am thrilled to be part of an institution where I will be able to grow so much as a Christian, student, athlete, and individual,” said Janda.

Ellie is the daughter of Jeff and Kristen of Blue Hill, Nebraska.  She plans to study engineering at Dordt.

Dordt University in Sioux Center, Iowa, is a comprehensive Christian college rooted in the Reformed tradition. The Defender athletic program is a part of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC), American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA) and the Mid-American Collegiate Hockey Association (MACHA).
