Van Hofwegen To Play Soccer at Dordt

(Thursday, Feb.24, 2022; Sioux Center, Iowa) Tyler Van Hofwegen, a senior at Lynden Christian High School (Wash.), has announced his intention to attend Dordt University and join the Defender men’s soccer program.

Van Hofwegen has played both the midfield and forward positions where he scored four goals for Lynden Christian.

“I chose Dordt because of the people,” said Van Hofwegen. “I really enjoyed and was impressed with how welcoming the staff, coaches and professors were to my family.” 

Van Hofwegen is the son of Eric and Becky, and plans to study Communications at Dordt.

Dordt University in Sioux Center, Iowa, is a comprehensive Christian college rooted in the Reformed tradition. The Defender athletic program is a part of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC), American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA) and the Mid-American Collegiate Hockey Association (MACHA).   

U.S. News & World Report, Money Magazine, Forbes.com, Washington Monthly, and Princeton Review all list Dordt on their best colleges lists. Dordt is home to approximately 1,500 students.
