Obbink To Play Soccer at Dordt

Elias Obbink, a senior at Unity Christian High School (Iowa), has announced his intention to attend Dordt University and join the Defender men’s soccer program.

"We are excited to have Elias on campus next fall," said Dordt University Head Coach Ryan Gresse. "We look forward to watching him develop in his time at Dordt,"

Obbink started all 16 games for the Knights last year, scoring two goals to go with one assist. He was third on the team with 20 shots on-goal and earned academic all-conference honors.

“I chose Dordt because of the positive experiences and interactions that I have had with the professors, coaches and players throughout the recruiting process," commented Obbink. "They helped me understand the many opportunities for growth that I can have at Dordt over the next four years."

Obbink is the son of Tim and Marlys from Sioux Center, Iowa, and plans to study Physics and Mathematics at Dordt.
