Laenen To Join Defender Men's Soccer Program

Marco Laenen, a senior at the Hannah-Arendt Comprehensive School (Germany), has announced his intention to attend Dordt University and join the Defender men’s soccer program.

"We are excited to add Marco to our 2022 class," said Dordt University Head Coach Ryan Gresse. "It has been a pleasure getting to know him during the recruitment process. Marco will provide depth and competition to the attacking areas of the pitch. We look forward to watching him grow throughout his time at Dordt."

Laenen played both forward and offensive midfielder in leading his U15 SC Neheim team to the cup championship. Laenen also played for the SV Westfalia Soest U17 team that won the championship.

“From the beginning of the recruiting process, I felt comfortable with the decision to become part of Dordt University," said Laenen. "The coaches always gave me a great feeling and were very helpful in answering questions that I had."

Laenen is the son of Frank and Magdalena from Moehnesee, Germany, and plans to study Mechanical Engineering at Dordt.
