Men's Track and Field Ranked Second in NAIA Poll

The Dordt University men's track and field team holds down the No.2 spot in the first installment of the NAIA Indoor National Rating Index released today by the United States Track and Field / Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).

This first ranking is based solely on marks from this year's, 2022 indoor season, and NOT on last year's results.

Dordt accounted for 201.98 points, second only to defending national champion Indiana Tech with 250.47 points. Grand View (Iowa), Doane (Neb.) and Grace (Ind.) round out the top five.

Defender athletes have 14 national top-10 marks through Jan.22, led by Payton Mauldin with the top time in the 600m. Mauldin has also qualified in the 400m and 800m.

Dordt finished as the national runner-up at the 2021 NAIA Indoor National Championships and is the reigning GPAC Champion.

A total of six teams from the Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) hold a spot in the initial poll; Dordt (2), Doane (4), Mount Marty (7), Midland (13), Concordia (18) and Briar Cliff (24).
