The Dordt women will travel to Mitchell, South Dakota to face the Dakota Wesleyan Tigers in GPAC play on Wednesday, January 26.  The game will tip off at 6:00.

The Tigers are 17-5 this season and are 9-5 in the league and have won three of their last four and are 5-3 in their games since Christmas.  

Wesleyan is average 71.3 points per game while allowing 58.9.  Wesleyan holds a 41.5-33.3 rebounding edge and converts 43.4 percent of its field goal tries.  

Matti Reiner scores 13 points per game with five rebounds and Jada Campbell is scoring 11.8 points per game with 5.8 rebounds. Kaylee Kirk and Rynn Osthus chip in with 8.5 and 8.2 points per outing and Isabel Ihnen has a 7.7 points per game average and she has 23 made three-point baskets to lead the team. Reiner and Kirk both average over four assists per game. 


The Defenders are 16-6 this season and 9-5 in the GPAC and have won nine games in a row.  The Defenders average 74.3 points per game and give up 66.  Dordt also has a 40-34.7 rebounding advantage and convert 42.2 percent of its field goals while limiting teams to 39 percent success.  

Ashtyn Veerbeek averaged 18.7 points per game with 9.5 rebounds and Bailey Beckman has an 11.8 points per game average to go with 40 made three-point baskets to lead the Defenders. Karly Gustafson’s scoring average is 11.2 and she has a 7.8 rebounds per game average and Janie Schoonhoven has an 8.0 points per game average to go along with six rebounds and she is converting 62 percent of her field goals. Hayden Heimensen and Mya Chmielewski are at 8.0 and 7.5 points per game.   


The Tigers bounced back from a Friday night loss to Hastings with an 86-82 win over the Doane Tigers on Saturday afternoon.  Dakota Wesleyan was up 18-16 after one quarter and stretched the lead to 41-38 at halftime.  A 27-21 advantage in the third quarter pushed visitors up 68-59 before hanging on to win 86-82. Matti Reiner scored 23 and Jada Campbell came off the bench to score 19 with six rebounds. Reiner also had 11 rebounds and five assists.  

Dordt handled Midland 77-50 on Saturday afternoon with Ashtyn Veerbeek scoring 32 on 12-17 field goal shooting and she had 15 rebounds. Bailey Beckman added 13 points and Karly Gustafson added 11 with six rebounds. Dordt outscored the Warriors 37-19 in the second half to secure the win.  


The Tigers earned an 80-75 win on December 11 in the De Witt Gym.  Dordt was up 21-14 after one quarter and Wesleyan responded with a 23-9 second quarter and preserved the win by five after leading 37-30 at halftime. Isabel Ihnen scored 18 and Campbell had 15 points with six rebounds. Lacey Sprakel chipped in with 13 points.  Karly Gustafson scored 19 and Hayden Heimensen added 17 in the loss and Mya Chmielewski was good for 12 points and four assists.
