Rus Joins Dordt Dance

(Thursday, January 13, 2022; Sioux Center, Iowa) Kinsley Rus, a senior at Rock Valley High School (Iowa), has announced her intention to attend Dordt and join the Defender dance program.  

"I am so excited that Kinsley has chosen to continue her education and her dance career here at Dordt next year! I have seen her grow and develop the last several years into a beautiful dancer and person, and we are excited to see that growth continue through her next four years here at Dordt! She is bubbly, energetic, and hard working, and she will be a great addition to our team next year,” said Dordt dance coach Mel Knobloch. 

Rus has been competing the last five years at Robin’s School of Dance and has qualified for nationals twice.  She’s also been on the cheer team for basketball and football.  Rus has competed as a soloist and won several competitions and also placed fourth at the national competition.  

Kinsley is the daughter of Greg and Jodi Rus of Rock Valley, Iowa. She plans to study education at Dordt.  

Dordt University in Sioux Center, Iowa, is a comprehensive Christian college rooted in the Reformed tradition. The Defender athletic program is a part of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC), American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA) and the Mid-American Collegiate Hockey Association (MACHA).   

U.S. News & World Report, Money Magazine,, Washington Monthly, and Princeton Review all list Dordt on their best colleges lists. Dordt is home to approximately 1,500 students.
